VIS-A-VIS has 16 chairs for hair and makeup as well as limited skin care services in a newly constructed 2400 sq. ft. building. The salon was built on the site of a formerly dilapidated structure, this injecting new life into the neighborhood. The interior is equally impressive.
Award winning designer, Herbert Brito was secured to create VIS-A-VIS’ clean and chic design featuring Knoll and Roche Bobois furniture throughout, lighting by Artimide, bamboo floors and a revolving exhibition of original artwork.
With more than 13 years of experience working at Van Michael Salon as International Director, McQuithy was responsible for advanced education or junior-level stylists. He has attended and participated in classes and trade shows throughout the United States and Europe. His work has been featured in magazines and on television.
Jeffrey McQuithy left Van Michael after thirteen years with the mission to create a truly exclusive salon focused on catering to his elite clientele. Jeffrey chose the salon name based solely on the definition, which perfectly reflected his vision.
Jeffrey is dedicated to having a staff that actively supports this vision. He continues to secure the most qualified stylists and colorists the city has to offer, the true foundation of VIS-A-VIS The Salon.
The location and interiors played a large part, so the only way to go was from the ground up! A year and a half later, VIS-A-VIS opened in late Summer 2001.
